Pat Durbin

Patrick Durbin, CEO

Patrick Durbin, co-author of Taming Change with Portfolio Management (Greenleaf Book Group, July 2010), is the Chief Executive Officer and founder of Planview, Inc., a leading developer and vendor of portfolio management solutions, including software, training and consulting. Planview has worked with over 400 Fortune 2000 corporations.

With more than 30 years of experience in portfolio, project and resource management solution development and system design, he has designed multiple global management systems including Planview Enterprise, a comprehensive solution designed to help organizations make better decisions by applying the discipline of portfolio management to projects, strategies, and business service delivery.

Since founding Planview in 1989, Mr. Durbin has led the company to consistently profitable growth and sustained customer loyalty while introducing cutting-edge product innovation.

Prior to founding Planview, Mr. Durbin served as vice president of worldwide marketing for Artemis International and held various positions at Sun Oil (SUNOCO) and McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing).

A recognized visionary in portfolio management, Mr. Durbin has worked with companies such as Reuter's, Citigroup, BP, and Farmer's Insurance to help align work, resources, and business objectives across their enterprises.

He has a BS in Aeronautics from Saint Louis University and an MBA from the University of Illinois.

Terry Doerscher

Terry Doerscher

Terry Doerscher, co-author of Taming Change with Portfolio Management (Greenleaf Book Group, July 2010), is the Chief Process Architect for Planview, Inc. With over a quarter-century of experience as a practitioner and consultant, his focus is on innovating world-class management techniques aligned to modern business challenges.

Since Mr. Doerscher joined Planview in 1999, he has become a trusted advisor to over 100 customers who use portfolio management to improve the performance of their organizations.

A founding director of the Enterprise Management Association-International, Mr. Doerscher is a passionate evangelist for integrating business management processes as a proven method of improving organizational performance. He is a frequently cited industry expert and speaker, having made several dozen public appearances this past year.

He is the primary author of Planview PRISMS® Best Practices, part of a proprietary companion product to Planview Enterprise software. He also drives the acclaimed PMO 2.0 series of presentations, leadership forums, and research, and authors the corporate blog, the Enterprise Navigator. Mr. Doerscher was a contributing author to the book, Business Driven PMO Setup by Mark Perry.

Prior to joining Planview, Mr. Doerscher held a number of engineering, project management, PMO and planning-related positions in the commercial nuclear industry for 18 years. He received his formal engineering education as a graduate of the US Navy Nuclear Power School, and served aboard the fast-attack submarine, USS Los Angeles.

He has been a member of Project Management Institute since 1997, is a member of the PMI PMO Special Interest Group, is ITIL v. 3 Foundation certified, and is a Certified Process Design Engineer (CPDE).
